so i've had a bit of fun these past few weeks. greg and i drove to
vegas with all the band gear packed into a rented caravan. the
dickdusters played two shows at two very cool bars. all in all, vegas
was FUN. but very fucking HOT. and the bars were smoky, making me
feel like a horrible mom sitting in all that stinkin smoke. ugh. i
can't believe i ever smoked. it's so disgusting! anyway, we spent the
days by the pool which was wonderful. i didn't feel too self concious
in my bikini mainly because i look fabulous ;) and i put together a
very cute pool-side ensemble. alas, no pics! i stayed up way too late
both nights in vegas and it took me about a 4 days to get back to
feeling normal. i do have a ton of the dickdusters rocking but i have
to still resize 'em all. i'll get 'em up online soonish. :)
so
tuesday my grandparents came to visit. i haven't seen them since last
year. they were very excited to see my expanding belly. we visited
for a while and i opened up some presents. my grandma knitted me a
blue sweater and knitted the baby a beautiful yellow blanket, stocking
cap and booties. so cute!! she also bought the baby a teddy bear.
and i got probably one the best presents ever, my very own sewing
machine! it's a hand me down and i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it. i've
already made some pillowcase type things to make sure i remembered what
i was doing. it's been about 15 years since i last touched a sewing
machine but it all came back to me. now i just need to hit up a fabric
store and some thrift shops. yay for crafty stuff.
it was
great to see grandma and grandpa. they are so cute together. my
grandpa takes such good care of my grandma. they have been together i
think 43 years now. it's so great to see a couple still in love after
all that time. we ate at tommy's joynt and after my belly was stuffed
with a turkey dinner, the baby started kicking and grandma got to feel
her move around. she was so happy. they dropped us at home and drove
across the bay to their friend's house. greg and i proceeded to fall
into a food coma. it was a good day.
today i had a doctor's
appt. everything's going well. the baby is not a shy baby. she was
kicking back at our midwife, it's pretty funny. she likes playing with
greg. he'll rub my belly then she'll kick back, he'll rub again and
she'll kick back again. and on and on. today for some reason she is
just super active. she's kicking me right now. it's been like this
all day. silly girl. i think we will have a hard time keeping up with
her. she's going to be feisty and so super curious. i don't have a
belly pic right now but i will put one up on monday. i'll be 27 weeks
then. time is starting to fly now. so much to do!
