i was in desperate need of a haircut and instead of paying someone else to do it, i decided to do it myself!  here's the new me:

i'm sure i'll be fucking with it some more to get it just right.  i can already tell i need to mess with the right side some more haha.

breastfeeding and myspace

myspace is acting the fool with their lastest controversy surrounding a a picture of a mom breastfeeding her baby.  Here's the story out of Tacoma WA. of course, lactating moms are not going to take this laying down! no way!  i heard about a virtual nurse in and i jumped at the chance to support the mom in Tacoma.  so i had greg take a picture of us nursing and changed my profile pic.  it's just completely ridiculous that myspace finds pictures of babies eating what nature intended them to eat sexual and offensive!  what about all the partially clad porn stars that abound on myspace?  what about the offensive and completely disgusting behavior of grown men cruising for underage girls on myspace?  why don't they address a very real and dangerous issue instead of getting their panties in wad over the innocent act of a mother feeding her child?  i will be watching to see what myspace's next move will be.

work suckage!

work sucks ass.  i do fine away from the baby because she's sleeping most of the time i'm at work and that makes it bearable.  it's the being so goddamn tired and achey all day that sucks so hard. and pumping at work blows, especially at my work since it's a dirty dirty place and i dont' want to touch anything while i'm pumping.  but i -will- keep pumping (because i don't want my baby to have formula, ever, if i can help it. she'll nurse til after she's turned one and we can introduce regular milk to her.  formula is so fucking expensive.) 

at least i enjoy the people i work with.  most of them anyways.  the store is still a choatic mess of a place but i've realized after 3+ years there, that ain't gonna change.  that's just the nature of TJ's and i'm a much happier employee if i just ignore it or deal with it instead of trying to change it.

making the switch-going greener

so we are making the switch to a more organic diet!  i've been switching over to organic dairy products with this weeks' shopping. next up, cheese and cream cheese and then the dairy switch will be complete.  i already buy some organic fruits and veggies so i'll just keep doing that and adding more organics to my shopping list.  and bonus, my favorite coffee at TJ's is already organic!  i figure since i get 10% off my groceries anyway, i might as well spend the extra money and buy organic.  TJ's offers a fair deal on their organic food and it's going to be better for us all anyway.

more "green" changes to come:
-using a diaper service instead of disposables.
-changing out the light bulbs to fluorescent light bulbs.
-switching to earth friendly cleaning products.  this one is harder, i'm not a bleach freak but i do like to deep clean the bathroom with a bit of diluted bleach every other month or so. 

we are already fairly "green" around here, this will just take us up to the next level of crunchy granola-ness.  LOL. 

home and work

okay, we survived our trip to minnesota!  for the most part, it was fantastic.  just a wee bit of family drama but all in all, a fantastic time!  my family loves greg.  and of course, everyone fell in love with LindaSue.  i didn't get to see everyone i wanted to though which is a bummer.  it's so hard when you are only home for a week and that week is crammed full of activities!  next year, i will definitely find the time to see everyone i want to see.  sorry guys :(  the weather was nice and minnesota winter-like.  it even snowed a few times, nothing major but a couple of nice dustings.

so tomorrow, i start working again.  i'm not too excited to be away from home for 8 hours but at least it's the night shift so i'll only miss three and a half hours of LS' awake time.  i got my bike back into a working condition, with greg's help.  okay greg did all the work, thanks!!  i took it for a little spin and man it feels great to be on a bike again!  i went to a cool bikeshop near my house and got head and tail lights.  i'll be using greg's helmet and bike lock for now since getting my own will cost over $100.  i'm also using greg's bike bag and he's going to be getting a new one before he goes back to work in march.  (he's on his paid family leave now.)  so i'll be biking to and from work which is nice, better than walking 20 minutes home late at night.  so yup, i start working at 5pm tomorrow.  i hope i make it through the shift without crying!  wish me luck.
